Who is Second Floor Studio Inc.?

Richard Wiederer

Born into a melting pot of musical genres and profoundly influenced by it, Richard Wiederer was by the age of thirteen smitten. Highly influenced by roots music and the classic rock scene through the sixties and seventies, it soon became clear that the blues and guitar were to become an overriding force in his life.

Throughout the early years of his work life he was a tradesman, graduating from the school of street smarts and hard knocks that culminated in the late nineties in a very successful masonry business

The next biographical milestone was precipitated by a horrendous personal tragedy.

The experience was extremely transtormatlve and unlocked a particularly personal metamorphosis that re-enlivened a dream long held, to create a recording studio.

In retrospect Richard's personal tragedy was timely, in so far as it enabled the birth of impulses not yet realized. It enabled a new process to unfold, thereby providing space for the birth of forces as mysterious and impenetrable as time itself and deeply relevant to his future.

Richard Wiederer's dream is now complete. His vision to create a high quality recording studio, home to any musician who strives for perfection, is culminating in his debut CD, "Homegrown in Chicago," under his stage name Rick Weeds, and soon to been released by the label Second Floor Recordings. It contains three original blues songs, one blues cover and seven original rock songs. Rick Weeds music, true to its blues roots, resonates from the heart and sets forth the truth and honesty of love and despair.

The recording studio was completed in 2007. A life long wish was realized, the creation of recording studio built primarily with the vision of fulfilling the needs of any artist who would like to realize their own musical destinies.
